Default No oil pressure

I want sitting in my truck letting it warm up and it died. When I tried to start it again I noticed my oil pressure gauge is all the way to the low peg. It barely moved. What could be happening. 06 ram 1500 5.7l
thanks

How many miles on it?

If you give it a bit of gas, does the pressure jump up?

It doesn't start now. It was idling and then died now I have no oil pressure. It will crank over like normal but just doesn't start. I'm at 210k on it

Need to figger out why it doesn't start first.... Does the starter actually roll the motor over?

Well you can't have oil pressure if the engine is not running. The oil pump needs to be a pumpin' first! That's like saying the engine temp is reading too cold before you've started it.

I had a Pontiac Grand Prix do that and it was I hit some ice and cracked the oil sender
down at the bottom of the block. I would have to use the scan tool to clear the computer to start it so if you can’t do that, unhitch the battery and turn the lights on for a couple minutes, then shut them off and hitch you back up and try it, if it starts up see if the oil pressure goes up at first and then drops off you probably got a crack sander that’s what mine was pretty simple fix seems like a eight or $10 part if you clear the computer when it starts up and running minutes, the pressure comes up and then it dies and shut off the pressure center. Will shut the computer right off and mine was making contact on and off because it was cracked.
