Hey all. Happy thanksgiving.
I’ve got an 04 Ram 1500 with 280,000 miles. It was my first car at 16 and my current daily at 32. The engine is finally starting to get sleepy on me haha. Wondering if I should throw another 4.7 in there or do a 5.7 swap? What would you do?

What kind of shape is the rest of the truck in? Keep in mind, EVERYTHING else has that 280K on it as well..... So, things like trans, axles, t-case, if you have one... etc. If you live in the rust belt, that is another consideration.
In the end though, it's your truck, and your money.
If you would like some more power than the 4.7 could provide, the 5.7 is most certainly the route I would take.

Sleepy? Are you having any issues? If it ain't broke, don't try to fix. I'm over 340K and still running strong with this 4.7. Personally, I would not throw any big $$$ into this if say the engine or tranny was to die. It just doesn't make economical sense. And this Dak has no rust...body is in great shape (no road salting here).
