I've been hearing a faint hum when turning to the right at highway speed for a while, and assume it's a wheel bearing. I assume that means there's trouble in the left front, but correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I would rather not spend $200 apiece for the parts store hubs, and am wondering if anyone knows what bearings would work here? We have a press, so it shouldn't be too hard to get done, if I can find them. This is for a 2003 1500 4x4

I think you can't replace just the bearing as it is a single part.
Recommended brands are BCA (NTN), Timken or SKF. Or original Mopar, but I'm pretty sure they're made by one of the 3 anyway.

 

Should be the left front. I got my a Detroit Axle hub assembly from Amazon for my 08. Today they run $55.94. Been running smooth for 2yrs now

 

Sealed unit, you don't have a choice lol.
