Default Hub centric 3” wheel spacers for Dodge Ram 1500

Hi folks, need expert advice on hub centric wheel spacers.

I’m currently running 3 inch 5 x 139.7mm (5 x 5.5") lug centric spacers on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.

I’m getting concerned that having all that stress on the lug studs will result in eventually losing a tire or worse.

Wanted to ask if anyone has installed hub centric 3 inch spacers on their Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck? If so, where did you order them from? All of the 3 inch spacers compatible with the Dodge Ram 1500 appear to be lug centric only? Can’t find any equivalent hub centric spacers online?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I wouldn’t worry about the stress on your lugs but more about the stress on your wheel bearings. I looked into it for mine but after paying $100+ every time I had to change a wheel bearing I thought against it.

I am just not a fan of wheel spacers in general. They change the geometry of the entire front suspension, introducing loads the manufacturer never thought about. It leads to premature wear on a lot of expensive-to-replace parts, and I see it as a safety issue, as I have seen way too many cars/trucks come in on a hook, missing wheels, broken balljoints, snapped tie rods, etc.

The stress on the lug nuts won't be that much more, as your wheels are not held in place by the lug nut themselves but the force between the hub and the wheel which is applied by the lug nuts/studs.

But yeah, widening the track (geometry wise it doesn't matter if you use spacers or wheels with a different offset) has some advantages and disadvantages though.
Really depends on what you want, if you can repair it yourself etc.
Good looks with big tires and a lift will always come with downsides sadly.
I am on 8x17 with offset -6 and 38mm (1.5") spacers for about 15k miles now, no problems with the bearings or something.
Will keep an eye on it for sure though...
