I have a 2004 dodge 2500 with cumins 5.9 and the 48Re automatic trans. After 242000 mile is has Lost second and third gear. I called the dealer to get a new trans and was advised that it is no longer manufactured. Unfortunately my local dealer was bought out by a National chain so so I do not trust them.
looking for options and recommendations.
where is a reputable source for the 48RE trans.
can I swap it for an Aniston? My ‘94 had the Aniston and my ‘18 has one. The ‘04 was a road truck and didn’t pull heavy loads so I didn’t worry about it.

Everyone and their cousin will sell you a trans. Any of your local trans shops would be happy to rebuild yours.
