the listing is just the motor i know ill still need mounts and a harness etc
Having the whole truck ensures you will have all the parts you need right there handy. Find a wrecked one, take it home, and start moving parts around. Otherwise, you are going to be constantly chasing parts....

agreed, theres many projects that to most people a waste of time, but choose to spend your time the way you will. I would agree a parts truck would give you the best parts supply with minimal effort, however if its a good deal on a running motor, 50% of hemi trucks i see listed have a rod out of the block lately , so you could still locate a hemi donor cheap, and you'd already have the motor
there a local repo auction to me, hemi trucks roll through there on the frequent that are tough shape, they do still bring a decent premium though

Honestly not even sure how you do that. I routinely hold mine around 5,000 rpm for like, 20 minutes at a time pulling the grade from the desert with the trailer you see in my sig.
@jrrusso I have a whole 2003 hemi quad cab (engine has over 160k miles but runs great) you can buy to use as a donor (or replace the trans and drive it as is).
