haha the majority has spoken good advice im excited for this one only thing im concerned about is ease of install so still trying too figure out the best year of hemi too get ive seen some people use the 03 hemi or i even read a thread about an 07 hemi from a druango that was supposedly mainly plug and play so not 100% sure yet what too drop in my 02 yet
Not that much changed with the engine until the next rev around 2009, you just want to get one with good compression and healthy bearings. I'd be more focused on whether I wanted the can bus, getting a good IPM or TIPM, and nice harnesses.
Honestly not even sure how you do that. I routinely hold mine around 5,000 rpm for like, 20 minutes at a time pulling the grade from the desert with the trailer you see in my sig.
Maybe one day it'll die in spectacular fashion.
Its pretty easy if you don't change the oil routinely ;-)
so any year before 09 would work and be a pretty straight forward install and most definitely i plan on building the motor up before dropping it in
I don't know that there are any differences casting wise, minus the head difference egr/non-egr. Straight forward would be to source all your (tested) system compatible components, then swap it in. Not straight forward would be to try to mix n match factory and aftermarket parts and spending copious amounts of time finding out what isn't compatible.
