2007 Mega Cab code P0335
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram mega Cab that is throwing a code P0335. I have had a mechanic change the Crankshaft position sensor twice now in two weeks. After the first replacement failed, he claimed it ended up being a faulty part so he replaced it. Two days after getting the second new Crankshaft sensor, the truck started having the same issues again (sometimes wanting to crank but not start or dies while idling and other times starting right up as if there were no problem at all) and continuing to throw the same code. Check engine light is on.
im struggling to believe that three in total crankshaft sensors are all actually faulty at this point (my original crankshaft sensor plus two new replacements). What else could be causing the P0335 crankshaft sensor code to be throwing and cause the truck to run or lack of, like this?

Thanks for responding, HeyYou! So I read that the cam sensor can also be a related cause if I already replaced the crankshaft sensor. In addition, other issues were listed as you stated. When I look up the reluctor ring or tone ring, I’m only getting information for diesel engines and mine is not diesel, it’s gas. All the YouTube videos I watched on it involved diesel as well. They are saying on those, you have to move the transmission to even get to it. I’m a girl and I know a good bit to get me by but I’ve never messed with a reluctor ring. So I’m trying to research it and I’m struggling with it because I can’t find anything on it related to a gas engine. I plan on changing the cam sensor and clearing the PCM and see if that works out but I’m basically running a process of elimination at the moment.
Even when I check auto parts stores online, I’m struggling to find a reluctor ring for this truck and I’ve tried different names (tone wheel, tone ring, timing ring etc…) It’s been frustrating trying to research this one part. Any advise? Or images even might be helpful if able. I would love for this to be a simple enough fix at home but worried that it’s not, I’m assuming this is why you said you hope it’s not the reluctor ring lol. I also hope it’s not the PCM because of how pricey they are. The only thing I was able to find related to my vehicle is when I checked with summit racing (image attached), does this look right? Edited to add I just stumbled onto these (second image) and am thinking this is more of what I need vs the one shown at summit racing. I’ll have to look & double check everything later this evening when able.

Assuming a 5.7, it is bolted to one of the crankshaft flyweights INSIDE the oil pan. I can't really tell if is can be replaced, without pulling the crank out of the engine... Have a look here for what I am talkin' about. It's the toothed while toward the back of the crank. Hopefully, that is NOT your problem.
