Default 03 ram 1500 4.7 gas pedal dead zone?

its the strangest thing granted I understand the 4.7 isn't a power house engine I know I shouldn't have to step on the pedal 3/4 towards the floor to have decent acceleration or any noticeable response . is this commonly a pedal sensor issue or cable adjustment ? I cleaned the TB . did the resistor for the iac which made a noticeable difference and grounded the TB both things were noticeable but now I'm in unfamiliar territory so any input would be appreciated ! I finally have my replacement pcm in the mail and on the way and would like to suss out other issues affecting drive ability now that I've sorted out the Evap purge solenoid situation . I just can't see my 02 v6 s10 having better throttle response and more power then a 4.7 v8 and I deffinetly know that something is up when 20-50% throttle just barely chugs along !

Need a scanner to test the pedal position sensor.

at 3/4 throttle would that activate and downshift the trans one gear? Definitely would feel it take off. How many miles on it? Fault codes? Test fuel pressure? Might be time for a tune up
