Default 5.7 hemi tick prevention

After 270k miles my 5.7 hemi bit the dust because of a blown radiator hose. I have decided to put a new engine in it but I wanted to prevent the hemi tick I was wondering if a higher end oil pump would help and if so do y'all have recommendations on which one. Also if you have any other tips for parts I should replace that would be much appreciated as I am trying to bullet proof this engine. Thank yall.

If you have a 3rd gen, avoid aftermarket parts as much as possible and learn to deal with it lol. They tick; 3G engines don't suffer the lifter issue (stay off facebook groups). Just make sure your cylinder heads have been gone over to ensure the seats won't drop if it gets too hot. If you have a 4th gen then you're in the wrong place.

No I didn't have a 4th gen it's an 03. But I'm curious why you say stay away from aftermarket parts are they just not worth it on a third gen.?

If it's a quality rebuild, then you should be golden. If they cheaped out, you will find out soon enough. Be sure to use the correct oil, and change at recommended intervals.

Someone forgot to inform this 06 I picked up that its not suppose to fail lol

But really, I'm sure this was a maintenance based failure, most 3rd gen hemi ticks are from broken manifolds and bolts that I've ever seen.

Keep the oil changed, use good oil/filter. I say run 5w-30 in em, or even 10w-30 in the summer. maybe I'm wrong, but ill find out the hard way because that's what I'm running in mine

I Know the mechanics that are doing the swap and they are the best in my area so I'm confident on quality and im in the habit of doing an oil chang every 4k so everything should be good. I just want to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

Because unless it's a higher quality performance part, aftermarket parts tend to be crappier quality than OEM.

Based on the rats nest atop it I would wholeheartedly agree. 5W-30 is perfect.
