Working Great so far, Specialy to 20+ MPG. Just make sure you run the correct oil are will through a Check Engine Light. All the 5.7 in Cars have had it since production started.

20+ mpg? Let's keep the piles of bull**** to a minimum please.
Perhaps he means on the interstate?

I have averaged 19 mpg on two 500 mile long trips on wide open interstate highways. I stickt the cruise control on 73-75 mph. If I were to have a tonneau cover or bed cap I bet that I would get around 20 mpg. These numbers are from the trip computer and my hand calculations. I have gotten 470 miles and 475 miles out of approximately 25 gallons of 87 octane on these two trips. During a normal week of driving for me I average about 15.5 mpg, alot of that is commuting on the interstates to work. Most of my around town trips are less than 1.5 miles since I live close to the grocery store and large shopping and entertainment areas.

I think it is conceivable that a 2WD Hemi with MDS and a tonneau cover could make better than 20 mpg on a long interstate trip.

I'll quote myself, we drive heavy and tall trucks.

If the mileage was that good Dodge would put it on the sticker. They would love to be able to advertise that.

Dodge isn't the ones who come up with the number, it's the EPA, if the EPA doesn't see 20+ mpg then it can't be advertised on the sticker. I've seen 19 mpg cruising at 55 mph in my 2005 Hemi Ram, so 20+ mpg is entirely possible.

I've got 1900 miles on my 06 and am only getting around 14 in the city. I have a daily commute to work,10 miles one way, and thats when I try to cruse at the speed limit. I believe i do get the MSD to ingage at times. I did raise the average to 15.2 whan I took a 200 mile hiway round trip. I wish I new how you guys are getting 19 mph. its hard for me to believe 19 mph is possible in the city or highway. What are your driving habits?
I have only managed 375 miles out of a tank so far. I have a 34 gallon tank. 475 miles? on a 26 gallon tank.......BULL

Check it by keeping track of your mileage between fill ups, not the overhead console. The overhead console is always better than what you are really getting.

I have only been on 1 really long road trip with my truck... It was 466 miles on 1 tank (26 gallons) of 87 octane gasoline. So GIRam and HemiBuell... Stop being such ********... There are ALLSTAR RAM, AeroRam, Saint, and myself have all seen around 20mpg in our trucks. I have a 2005 QC 4x4 with no tonneau cover, short box... And I saw my MPG goes as high as 24MPG during my road trip... That's with the overhead console. If you do the math by hand... 466 miles on 26 gallons, that 18MPG for my trip...

20MPG is totally not unreasonable. Especially not for a 2WD RC SB...

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram SLT 1500 4x4 w/hemi and I've gone 220 miles round trip on just shy of 1/2 tank of gas. I get 20.7 mpg for the trip. I use cruise control 55mph and 65 mph on back rural roads. I also drive through some small towns on the way at a slower speed.

At home I get 15.4 mpg in town and I use cruise control. Speed limit in town is 30mph and outside of town its 55 mph. I have approx. 19,790 miles on my truck. We also put some
new 20" wheels on it a different kind for the desert.

I'm very happy with the gas mileage I get and the way the truck handles. It handles well in the snow and ice as well. I don't have a Tonneau cover on my truck as we use it for hauling, etc.

On the interstate i've averaged as high as 18.5 mpg at 70 mph. In town thats a whole other story more like 13-14 mpg. Around 60mph i've had it reach 19 mpg. Oh and i drive a rcsb rumblebee with 3.92's. And yes the 2006 models have the hemi mds option available and u can go look on the dodge website and build one with it. I've already seen a few trucks with the sticker that said MDS on it at the dealership.

Dude, I'm telling you. The first weekend I had my truck I had to drive it from Milwaukee to Atlanta. I filled up when I left my parents house in West Chester, Ohio (a northern suburb of Cincinnati) and I did not fill up until I was just a couple of miles north of I-285 in Atlanta. I reset my trip odometer at the gas station in Cincinnati. If I remember the numbers right (this was 3 weeks ago) I drove 474.8 miles and when I filled up I put in 25.1 gallons of gas. That's 18.91 mpg. I drove it nice and easy the whole way with the cruise control set between 73-75 mph. The interstates were wide open so I rarely took it off cruise control to maneuver around slower cars and I never hit a slow spot.

Believe me I was shocked by this too since I had heard that Rams usually get bad gas mileage. I have driven from Cincinnati to Atlanta dozens of times over the years and that was the first time I ever made it on one tank. In my Tbird I always had to stop for gas in Tennessee, but that was largely due to its smaller 18 gallon tank.

Several people here have said they have gotten 18-19 mpg. Why is this so hard to believe? We're not claiming 25 mpg. I have a stock 04 QC SB 2WD SLT with a Hemi with 3.55 gears. I drove with the tailgate up. I have the alloy 17 inch rims with 265/70R17 tires with the proper pressure in them. These aren't off road treads, they are all season highway tires that came with stock Goodyear Wrangler SRA's. (though now I have Yokohama Geolander HTS G051's on it now) I also drove it really easy, hardly ever accelerating once I got on the intestate and never topping 3000 RPM when I did accelerate.

If I had a QC Hemi with 4WD, 3.92 gears, the 20 inch rims and 285+ off road tread tires, with lots of heavy tools in a truck box then I would probably never be able to break 17 mpg either. The 4WD and 20 inch rims add probably 400-500 lbs of weight over what my truck weighs and the losses associated with 4WD and the rolling resistance from bigger tires and/or off road treads just make it work in terms of getting power to the road efficiently.
