You are correct! Just changed mine a couple of weeks. Engine light went on, took it to dealer they said it was the (P0404) EGR valve postion sensor. Mechanic said it could be the EGR valve sticking so keep an eye on it, so he reset it, engine light did not come back on until a couple of days later. So I just went out and bought a new EGR valve from the dealer because no auto store had it in stock and replaced it, with battery neg. disconnected. It's now been 3 weeks since I replaced it and the engine light has not come on. FYI before I replaced the EGR valve the truck would run like crap, now it runs much better!!

This is the same thing that was happening with my "Brandie" P0404 is the EGR and I ordered it from O'Riellys but it's on back order. I only have 67000 on her, the parts guys at both Advanced Auto and O'Riellys both said it was too early for it to go bad. But I have the low RPM bog and gag thing going on. I'm waiting for it to come in. I hearing about more and more Ram 4.7 owners with this problem. Is there a TSP on this or a recall?? Anyone?? H-

Apparently there is a shortage? of these valves because I can't find this valve at any autoparts store in my area. One autoparts store I use has 23 warehouses and none of them stock it.

On another note I did get a price as low as $36.49 for the valve.

The only help i could offer you is to post your question as a new thread.... more people will see it since it will be in the right spot.
