Installed the headlights drive the truck and everything was fine suddenly after a couple weeks I get bulb out. Passenger low beam is out. Switched headlights and the problem stayed with passenger side. So it’s the truck.
Lower voltage going to headlights causing the ECM to shut it off due to thinking there’s a short I guess.
ok, added resistors to make up for that problem. However I’m going to have to reset or remap the truck to correct the shut down. Three dealerships are telling me where I’m at they don’t have the tech beyond 06 anymore to do the work. Anyone know how or where I can get this done or have an idea for reset.

Check independent shops, someone likely has a scanner that'll do the job.

I think alfa can do it, but 04 is a little bit of a stretch of my experience.

Are you sure its not an FCM issue? Typically a new light bulb is self repairing in my opinion if they failed light is actually the problem? could also try the old disconnect battery cables and touch together for a half hour

Probably the TIPM. My '04 pass. low went out. New bulb didn't lite-up! Found a refurb'd TIPM online, old bulb still good.

Since you were using LED lights instead of the halogen/incandescent ones, I'd check your fuses. I remember blowing a fuse when I switched my tail lights to LED ones off of eBay.

I switched the headlights and they both work in the driver side. So it is the truck. Thinking the lower voltage on the leds caused IPM to detect a short and shut down the low beam. The load correcting resistors I’ve installed should shove that, however that won’t reset the IPM. Three dealerships near me don’t have the device needed and I’m waiting on a call from mobile mechanics to see if they have it. Checked the fuses and they’re all good. Switched capacitors in fuse box and nothing there either.

I wonder if the resistor is the culprit...
