Default people with headers on there hemi's...

If you did it yourself or had a shop do it, how long was the job??? The estimate i got from my regular muffler shop was 6 hours total (to be safe) There was a website that did the dynamax install "how to" and also gave a dyno graph for the before and after. That page said it took 3 1/2 hours. I went to a different muffler shop today that said they'd do it for me no problem. The people that worked there drove rams (no hemi's) so i didn't worry much about it. I dropped it off at 10am, they had me and some excursion only for today, and they were about an hour away from being done with that truck. I just got off the phone with them (3:20pm) and the guy said they only have one side on!?!?!? how much of a bitch are these headers to get on/off??? I'm guessing they didn't take the "easy" way out by removing the front two tires and fender well trim, but is that a long time or just me? They close in 1 1/2 hours and if keeping the truck over night is out of the question. I had told the guy that to begin with and he assured me it wouldn't take that long and it would be out today... kinda strange.

i called them at 3:30 to see how things were coming along and the guy said "we have one side on so it shouldn't take that much longer." They close at 5pm, i was assured that i'd have my truck back so i went down there around 4:50'ish. They guy has this shocked look on his face then waves me inside to see what was going on... They didn't have a damn thing on the truck. They took the manifolds off and cut the cats off to get ready to install the headers. What kinda crap is that?? Their excuse was "the bolt holes aren't lining up quite right" It was the very first and last hole that were barely out of line. What kinda idiots waste a few hours deciding what to do!?!? I told him to tap the damn holes a little bigger. Then i kinda got mad because i work out of town and obviously need a vehicle. I asked the guy to make sure what time they closed and he said "i'll close the shop when the job is done" it's 10 minutes till 8pm and sure enough there closed! I honestly think if i hadn't showed up like i did they would have just closed and not even bothered to call and tell me. When i first got there this morning they said the job would be $265... Should i be the bigger man and just pay them or should i raise hell for them lying, not using there common sense (with the bolt holes)

that's what everyone is telling me to do. I would have done it myself but my headers didn't come with a flange at the end that you just bolt on, they need to have the pipes flared out. haha my friend told me to just play hookie from work tomorrow and tell them that i got fired and go ape ****. I have a funny feeling they're going to take there sweet time tomorrow... we'll see though.

well i got my truck back finally it only took them another 8 hours to get it done [:@] the only thing i don't like about it is the hesitation when you hit the gas... i swear i'm going to **** a brick if i'm not the only one expereincing that. maybe it's just a mental thing but it kinda seem slower like it lost it's "pep"

pacesetter headers: $300
installation: $295 for 2 days worth of work...

should have went dynomax/mopar. I could have done it my damn self and saved both time and money. oh well lesson learned.

i haven't really had the chance to play with it that much. When it's in drive and you hit the gas i feel the hestitation pretty bad but when i'm in 1st and hit the gas i don't get it. i didn't really notice anything shifting into or out of 2nd... maybe 5 speed auto's are different haha or do you have an auto too?

I don't think they disconnected the battery when they installed them. For all the other mods i've disconnected it and i have to reset all my radio stations (even though i rarley listen to the radio) when i picked it up lastnight i noticed they were all set... I didn't get a check engine light from the headers but i'm thinking just my luck if i do disconnect it i'll get one. I really want to just so the computer will re-adjust to everything i've done to it, that's my theory anyways. Do you think that might take care of the hesitation or atleast help?? Or am i just getting that because i left the cats on it? the only reason i left them on was for warranty purposes. I'll have to take pictures of the setup sometime soon. It doesn't look right to me for some reason maybe because they welded the drivers side cat directly onto the collector of the header!?! haha i've never seen that done before just heard it's "ok" to do
