Flowmaster 50 Series HD
Anyone have a Flowmaster 50 Series HD on a Hemi 5.7 ? I don't see any thread mentioning it. I only see the Flowmaster 40. Why does no one have this on there truck if Flowmaster designed it for the truck ? Does anyone have a sound clip of it on the Hemi 5.7, if so can you post it ?
Well, I went with a super 40 because every single vehicle I have owned up until my Hemi Ram has been a muscle car. I am used to the very deep throttle sound and I began to miss it. So, I went with the super 40 and could not be happier. The 50 HD is not only for the Ram, they also offer a super 40 package made just for the Ram as well. Go to flowmaster mufflers. com and they have a sound clip of a Hemi Ram with the 50 HD.
I've got the 50 on my '05 QC 4x4. I really like it. It's pretty mellow compared to the 40, but that's what I wanted. It's still loud enough. ACtually, you may want to try and keep the stock "sound chamber" or whatever it is on the truck, as the cabin noise *can* get a little annoying at times with the muffler. I paid just under $300, I think for the muffler and dual rear side exit pipes/tips.
I have a 50 series HD on my truck and love it! I work nights so I didnt want to wake the whole neighborhood when I came home,so I went with the quieter 50,I left the resinator on,this mellows it a bit more also. The idle is mild, there is no cab resonance, and it sounds awesome when I romp on it.
I like your pipes. I did mine that way, but went with a rolled edge tip and I have them sticking out a little farther, but they have the same angle.
I have to say, it BUGGED THE HELL OUT OF ME trying to make sure the pipes were absolutely perfect. On all my trucks I'd run them straight out the back and exit near the license plate - very easy to center. But when you exit behind the tire and put an angle on it, its tough. Luckily the guy who did my exhaust didn't mind moving the lift up and down until I thought they were JUST RIGHT

I don't think its cheaper than the 50 series
Unless you mean Flowmaster in general is cheaper than other brands.
Sure, Corsa and Borla are nice, but if you have a 4WD and put a stainless steel exhaust on your truck, and actually take it offroad, that's just dumb, Now, if it is a pavement princess, then yes, I can see a stainless steel exhaust being worth it.
