What is your Ram shod with?
Hey guys,
I figure that I've only got about 6k-10k miles of tread left on my OEM tires. I went looking around online last night for possible new tires. I don't want to get another set of Goodyear Wrangler SRA's because personally I think they suck for wet road and snow traction. So I am curious what tires and sizes y'all have on your Rams. I currenty have 265-70R17's on my 2WD HEMI QC Ram and I think that I wil keep them the same size. 99% of my driving is on the road and 50% or more of that is on the interstate. Any off roading (if you want to call it that) will just be on dirt, gravel, or cut trails on private property. No mudding or fording rivers so I guess I am looking for all season highway tires. I live in Atlanta so I'm not too worried about snow or ice but I want something that is still respectable in those regards for that once every 3 year snow we get. If you have any suggestions to look at or to avoid post 'em here. Thanks.
Anyone have any experience with Yokohama Geolander HT/S G051's? Those look pretty good from the reviews on tirerack.com and they aren't as expensive as the premiums from Goodyear, Michelin, etc.

I had these put on about a month ago and as long as they keep making them I will have them on my truck.

well my truck has the 20" rims, but from experiance these 2 tires are pretty good in my mind. they shud also make them in 17's.
i would go with the BFG KO A/T's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....rrain+T%2FA+KO
Or you can go with what my mom's ram has, the Toyo Open Country A/T's they are a pretty good tire. shes had 2 pairs on her truck already. she takes it off road and we just went to mexico, and we had no problems with these tires. http://www.lesschwab.com/tires/light...encountry.html
heres a picture of the KO's when i first got them

I have the 17's on my truck and I like the stock michelins. My wife's durango has the goodyears and they seem to be wearing fast. I don't know about the snow, but this is Florida and both seem to handle the rain fine.
I am a big fan of the Yokohoma Geolanders. Run a ton of gravel and highway and they really do well. I do get a little highway noise with the geolanders though. Just depends on if you mind that or not. We see all four seasons here in Montana and these tires can handle it all. Used to run Toyo's, but started seeing a decrease in the amount of miles I was getting out of them. I also have heard good things about Hancooks! Haven't tried them yet though.
BLACKACID:
I like those tires ALOT.
I have the 20" too
How many miles did you get outa your stock goodyears?

I like the BFG's. Had that on my Taco stuck with them.
On my Ram i went with a brand called Nitto. They usually make high performance tires, but started making AT's. So far i have about 25000 miles on them and still have about 50% tread left. however, i will probably go back to the BFG's on my next set. The Nittos' are 2 sizes bigger than stock with no problems.

I've got Hercules Terra Trac A/T's. Their actually pretty awesome tires [Canadian made]. Ive gone off in mud, and really deep snow and I havnt ever gotten stuck. I dont even use 4x4 anymore. The original Terra Trac's were first marketed as sort of an A/T, but they wernt.. so some people wernt willing to give these ones a try, but I am more than happy with them.
Im Rollin on the 17" stock chrome rims soft contoured 5 spokes w/ 35" Bfgoodrich All Terrain K/O's (12" wide) and i LOVE THEM, but i ordered my set of 22" moto metals and 40" nitto Mud Grapplers so... SAY GOODBYE TO GAS MILEAGE!!! lol but while im still rollin the BFG for a month or so until my new ones arrive they are great, 6000km and 95% tread left
