Default A funny new Hemi story

Ok, I picked up my 04 QC 4X4 Hemi yesterday.(For anyone who saw my other post before I picked it up, it is the "Off Road" not TRX$ like I thought) Anyway, before I finalized the deal, my wife asked me how much more gas I would go through as opposed to my 03 Dakota 4x4 SXT. Of course I was full of BS when I said it would be about the same, but the Dakota was only getting like 14-15 MPG. Well on the way home, in between punching the peddle, I messed around with the overhead computer.(I never had a truck with one). So, when I set it to MPG it was registering 18.2, wich I thought was awesome. I stopped somewhere, started driving again, looked up, now it says 19.4 I'm thinking I got the best Hemi ever built! One more stop, now it says 20.1!!!!! I tell no less than 4 people in between how "great gas mileage" this thing gets.
Now the punchline .....

It was set to KPG..... Kilometers that is.
Checked it today on way to work......... 12.4
Damnit!!!!!

By the way, this is Dodge truck number 4 since 16 years old. Only thing I have owned is Dodge trucks, no cars, no Fords, Chevys etc.
75 Dodge D100 318
84 Dodge D100 (150?) 318 Edelbrock 4 Barrel- Eddlebrock performer intake- cherry bombs - Crager SS rims (Loved that one)
03 Dakota 4X4 QC SXT (commonly referred as the 3 year mistake) V6 Non ***** Too Small

I will be doing some simple mods at some point, but I love going through the older posts and seeing what has worked for everyone else.
Quick question; How do you use an image for your post?(to the left ) Most people have a pic of their truck or something there..

yeah that is funny. I average around 14-14.5 mpg, but I drive moderate speeds though I do open it up once and a while.

Bwaaaahahahaha!!! I'm really rolling on the floor you guys!

I've done the same thing before, but quickly knew something was not right. I usually get 12.5-13.5 give or take in mostly city driving. On the highway it is all speed dependent. The faster I drive, the faster the gas needle goes down.
