If you buy used vehicles, this is the kind of stuff you run into. If you don't like it , buy new!!!!!!!!

ORIGINAL: Hemimadman06

I am a new dodge man, came from driving a ford and i work for gm so i know nothing about dodge trucks. i have an 06 1500 ram and i heard that there is a way to kill the odometer so it wont count miles by turning the key back just a little click while the truck is running. ive tried and i can no get it too work. Anyone know about this and if you do what is the trick to getting it too work. "madman"

You have to have your head under the rear tire when you click the key back, moron..

I've heard of this mod. You weren't completeing the process. Follow these steps:

While the truck is in park...fire the truck up...
Now rev the engine a couple times....
After reving the engine....put your foot on the brake and release the parking brake....
Now put the truck in drive and step out of the vehicle....
Heres the tricky part....Undress and write dork on yr forehead and run around looking like a fool.

Booyah....no more problems with yr odometer!!!

Yes, this does work. I tried it before just to find out if it works but I would not recommend it. The speedometer and odometer do cutoff but so do some other things. Sometimes the wipers stop, vent - heat/A/C, power windows, radio. I know someone that did it all the time and he ended up having a lot of problems after.

OK, just a quick reply. Just because your dash gauges don't work, doesn't mean the computer isn't logging everything.
1. Drive by wire- comp. controlled throttle(logged)
2. Auto Trans.- comp controlled gear changes(logged)
3. Odometer- comp. logged
4. *******- he who intends on ripping off fellow Dodge owners
