Just had a laugh on the V6 forum
So I was bored and I was curious about what V6 owners talk about. I couldn't help but laugh a little when saw what they post. They are all wanting more power. Its funny, because their looking to get more power (which is probably less than a hemi), and the Hemi guys are looking for more power too. Is it ever really enough? I dunno, but if your looking for more power, ya should have got a V8, lol.
P.S. To the V6 people... no hard feelings.

None taken. I agree, for the MPG, I would have taken an 8 with gears, but I dont have the kind of cash for a 5.7. The only 4.7 they had were the SLT and no ST, again I had no cash for upgrades. I was also lied and told that for better MPG is the 6. I get average 17MPG. I should've done more research. Oh well live and learn. I'll wait another 3 or 4 years when they make a nicer looking Ram than the ****e they have now.
On the bright side, I have no HEMI tick, no stalls, no warp rotors, no power window problems, no differential problems, only use 5 qts of oil, no tranny slips, no auto downshifts, no chips frying, no 20" rims getting stolen. To name a few. So horsepower, for what I do with truck, I am ok for now.
PS-Becareful, your curiosity might take you to Brokeback Mountain, then I'll be laughing.

Over the weekend I hauled my second ton of topsoil in my v6. Again, it hauled it just fine. I've said it beore, the manual transmision was more important to me than the Hemi, I just like to shift. I would have bought a Hemi if I could get one in a 1500 reg cab short box with a manual. None is offered, so I have a V6. The price differnce goes to my new 340 for the 'Cuda; a much better use of speed money - 'cause like you say, even if I got a Hemi I'd be lookign for more power, so why bother?
Honestly the 3.7L is a good little engine. When a freind of mine had a Single Cab 3.7L we raced...(I have a QC 4.7L) ... he kept up pritty good when it was STOCK to STOCK... i pulled away from him but not badly. I was impressed that he hung around as long as he did. I earned allot of respect for the 3.7L that day... its plenty power for a Single Cab Ram. Throw a Supercharger on it and start hanging with the 5.7L...

I got 'em both. V6, and a Hemi. I like them both. I am into the "Make it look better" more than the "Make it go faster" thing. On both vehicles. It's all about the looks for me. I still like to read what others do to their trucks including the mods to get more power and speed.

Got a 2.5L in the sebring. It's a peppy little motor, but I'd go for an 8 in a truck. The only thing that bugs me is when people brag about maxin' out their V6s to compete with V8s, and yet spend twice as much as a V8 costs, but I can understand buyin' a V6 for money problems. My parents are gettin' one of them new Wranglers. That has the brand new V6 instead of the ol' straight six.

"I have no HEMI tick, no stalls, no warp rotors, no power window problems, no differential problems, no tranny slips, no auto downshifts, no chips frying, no 20" rims getting stolen"
--I don't have any of those problems either, and I have a Hemi. It's also kind of funny because the problems you mentioned happen to all engines (and similarly equipped vehicles)- they aren't specific just to the Hemi. So I don't buy that argument.
I could say the same thing about a V6, "I have no problem passing an 85 Silverado, my truck doesn't slow down when I go up a hill with the AC on, I can drive over a curb without ripping my differential apart, if I put an exhaust on my truck it doesn't sound like a fart can" But then again, I know why people buy V6's, they want something economical, might not need the power, or they may be low on cash. But I'd never make it seem like I bought one because the better engine and truck "has so many mechanical problems"
