Who makes the best programer?
Ok, Income tax return time.... I want to add a chip or a programer to my Quad cab 4x4 HEMI ram. I've heard stories about the flash pack making our trucks smoke the tires off a dead stop and chirping between shifts. Is this true or BS? Has anybody with the Quad cab and 4x4 w/20's and the 3.92 and the auto tranny been able to do anything like this? How have you seen performance changes? is it a worth while upgrade? which to do? Superchips, Hypertech, Jet...ect? Please give me real world feed back. P.S. I'm doing the flowmaster exaust system (cat back) designed for the Hemi if that makes any difference to this upgrade.
Thanks for your help

I personally went with the Hypertech...but I'm looking to upgrade to Superchips after I get a 6.1 cam. If you have the money get the Superchip. I haven't heard anything good about Jet chips. For the money Hypertech is awesome!
Chirping 2nd?...if your on 1/8 tank with a some mods and stock tires, you can! I have! Good luck trying to chirp Nitto's...they hook![:@]

I have the Superchip one. It's not as drastic a change as everyone will make it out to be, but it def. pulls off the line quicker and no longer drops cylinders on the upshifts(which actually does help out quite a bit). If they ever do start releasing downloadable updates, as was originally promised, it will be the most practical in the long run IMHO.

The programmers don't do much,as far as smoking the tires on takeoff BULL****.chirping the tires between shifts BULL****.Getting a little better mileage YES.Pulling a little harder off the line Yes.
I emailed Hypertech and a tech told me by emission law they are not allowed to change fuel mixture
timing curve etc.. except at wide open throttle. But that was after I already bought it.. And I have a custom made 3" y pipe dual 3" pipes,Magnaflow muffler ,k&n filter.Best I ever got was a little chirp off the line when it was real cold out.So there's the real truth.........

I have the Superchips programmer, and while it doesn't turn a truck into a Viper, it changes the performance enough to be noticeable.
I don't know about you, but from a standstill I could chirp the tires WITHOUT a programmer, so not sure why you couldn't with all the mods AND programmer. I've heard better things about Superchips than Hypertech, so maybe that is the reason for the difference.

I just got mine a few weeks ago. Been having a blast with it. I know some people say it doesn't do anything, or very little at best, but I noticed a significant difference. Maybe part of it is due to the CAI and exhaust, but Superchips really woke up my Hemi.
I think the biggest reason is that it holds the gears longer. This allows you to get in the "sweet spot" of the RPM range much easier. However, I did notice a problem. On days like today, where it rained all day, I had serious traction issues. Luckily, it doesn't rain here much, but I'd hate to drive with this chip in snowy climates.

thanks guys for your posts. keep them comming in.. I was always considering the flash pack since that is the one I've read about with people saying that they can chirp 1-2 shifts. any truth to this? I've also heard that people can smoke them on 20's on dry pavement 4x4's? any truth to that(I don't mean break torque either) I am planning on adding nitrous, any body know if you can pull timing with the flash pack? anybody running nitrous how much hp jetting can you run safely on a stock programing, no chip no tune, same plugs? thanks.
