It does it on an 04 as well. It is nothing unique to an 06.

I think "lag" is the incorrect term. I think he is referring to the time between flooring on the gas pedal and the rpm's shooting up. There were some other posts on here and someone said it is due the throttle control system. I have not noticed it since adding an exhaust, CAI, and Superchips.

I think he really means the torque management!

Could it be part of the MDS?

when i was using regular gas, i noticed that lag alot more than when i started using a higher octane fuel like supreme. other than that, try pushing the throttle harder at first till the power hits then let off a little. may need some gettin used to. it works for me anyways!

It's the other four cylinders waiting to light off.

No lag here. Just the opposite for me. I have to be real light on the pedal.

Off the line there is no lag in my truck. But if you are cruising, whether highway or city streets speeds and stomp on it the truck does take a split second to come alive. It definatly could be more responsive in that area, but I am sure it is built in for a reason.

One thing to note, when I installed my Jet Module some of this has disappeared. Reason, when driving under 40 my truck never kicks into OD. So when I am under 40 and hit the gas I get much better response. The cost, a little lower gas milage, but that is only if I cruise at less than 40.
