Its a clear case of "HEMI ENVY". Symtoms are ....denial, jealousy, rage, and ultimately depression.

Those guys are hilarious.

The one guy was like "I raced a Hemi in the rain, and he only beat me because my back tires broke loose... The HEMI was so sluggish it couldn't even break loose..."

Give
ME
A
F*CKIN
BREAK

My HEMI smokes the tires when it's 100 degrees out, on dry pavement, with 20's...

If he didn't spin the tires, it's because he KNOWS how to drive his damn truck.

I can't even imagine having 17's on a truck with this much power.

I wouldnt call it HEMI ENVY at all, perhaps they run into few HEMI owners who are so full of themselfs because they have a HEMI, so beating a HEMI makes them feel good to shut one up once in a while...

Im not saying that I feel this way Im just trying tolook at it from there perspective.

You also need to look at what mods he has... if any. If he has NO mods then I would have to agree that it NEVER happend... but that 4.6L has an aftermarket us DDodge owners can only dream of having....

I'd agree with you a 4.6L Ford has more aftermarket than Dodge. And I bet this guy could smoke a 4.7L with his mods. But there is no way he did this to a Hemi. With all the stuff he has added, he maybe has 40 more hp and 50 lbs/torque. At best. That isn't enough to make up for the difference in power between a small modular Ford V8 and a 5.7L Hemi.

Well I know my 4.7L could beat a HEMI by 3 truck lengths by the end of the 1/8 mile... So with that said a 4.7L can be built to take most Stock to lightly moded 5.7L's from light to light with ease "FROM LIGHT TO LIGHT".

NOW at the end of the 1/8 mile the 5.7L has 2-3MPH more at the traps but hes 2.5-3 truck lengths behind me so because they make more HP than me they are PULLING on me but my 4.7L can still squeak most of them out by the end of the 1/4 but we are trading paint by the 1/4 mile point. From a 50MPH role... I would lose! But off the line my 4.7L gets up and goes quicker.

So this means YES my 4.7L does make less HP...but the torque is right up there and with the 4.56's Im rolling off the line to the sound 1.99's- 2.00's 60 footers... thats where I win! The HEMI does make up for it on the top end but most the time its a hair too late.

So with the Ford 4.6 having MUCH more potential than my Dodge 4.7L ... I do not find it too hard to beleive he could put a hurtin on a stock 5.7L HEMI.

I have several freinds who have HEMIs running low 8.5's in the 1/8 mile... so Im not a HEMI hater... I just call it like I see it.

The 4.56's are the biggest difference. The headers, exhaust, CAI mean nothing in a race from light to light. That Ford guy didn't have 4.56's. That is the biggest reason I think he is lying. If we want to compare motor to motor (which isn't fair), then it would be a Ford 4.6 or Dodge 4.7 with 4.56's vs a 5.7 with 4.56's. It'd be over pretty quick.
