Default thinking about 5.7L

I'm looking at purchasing a used '04 Ram 1500 Hemi but have read some disturbing
info about these engines stalling after breaking for a turn, etc... power cutting out
to power brakes, steering ...

Anybody have trouble like this?

Currently driving '01 Dakota Sport V-6 with 168500 miles

With any vehicle there are recalls that you should investigate and have remedied. I prefer the HEMI option as its got bawlz. If you are going broke on gas you might as well go all out!

Go for the Hemi. No engine is going to run perfect forever or not have a bug that needs worked out . I bought mine regardless of what problems others have had. If I have a problem, I will fix it. You will not regret getting this awesome engine.

Yeah, I test drove an 04 Ram Hemi back in 04 - it was an awesome ride and the salesman was getting a little nervous. Wanted one then but couldn't pony up the $$

Dunno gas mileage on the dakota, but my 2500 hemi 4x4 gets like 10mpg. Just keep that in mind. Most people on this board say they get better though I dont understand how haha.

Yeah, I have gotten about 12 mpg, but I surely didn't buy this truck for the gas mileage!!
Oh, wait, maybe I DID. This truck replaced an Excursion with a V-10 engine that usually
got 8 to 10 mpg!!!! And the Ram is quicker, handles better, and is definitely easier to park!!

A win-win!!!! [sm=yeahsmile.gif]
