Default MPG for a 03 QC??

I average 14.7 MPG on the highway, and 14.3 MPG in the city...is there something wrong with those numbers? i figured there would be a bigger difference between the two.

Maybe you got a lead foot? j/k Not sure why there's not a bigger difference in the numbers, but overall you are doing better than me.

well, yes i do have a led foot. average about 85 on the highway. my supervisor has an '05 quad cab with the 17" wheels, and he was saying that he does 85 and gets 20mpg on the highway...didnt think there would be that big of a difference between 20" wheels and 17" wheels.

Both trucks are 4.7L btw

I seriously doubt he is getting an actual 20 mpg at 85mph. There is just way to much mass with way to much frontal area for him to get 20 mpg, regardless of the 4.7. Now if he was running around 55-60 on flat ground, I'd believe him.

I just got back from a trip to to Georgia, avg speed was 95ish with cruise on. DTE said 19.2, but that was in the flat areas. Highway mpg was at 17.2 calculated on 674 mile trip one way. All stock 03 QC 4.7 offroad 56k miles. Very suprising mileage for the size of the truck, but of course one smooth ride. To top it all off the truck did very well off road in the slick sloppy wet georgia clay.

I've never seen better than 18 on the highway - and that was driving through the desert, on flat ground, with no wind.

I am getting around 10 mpg around the city with my 03 QC 4.7 4x4. Kinda sucks. No lead foot here either, I am a old man!
