It is simple. A thin screw driver and easily pry the front part of the dash (at the base of the windshield) up. I had to do this on my Grand Cherokee to replace the tweeters. I think the heat gets to them.

The dash is held on with nice big screws and bolts, but the front top part of the dash that covers the speakers is just a pop in piece. You'll notice a division on top of the dash towards the front, this is the piece that covers the speakers. It just pops up.

But what are you going to replace the **** stock speakers with???/ There are not too many high quality 3.5 inch speakers...and what are you going to use for the center speaker. I am seriously interested in knowing, because I took this three speakers out of my installation, the front door components and the rear 5-1/4" work fine enough.....

I replaced all the speakers in my truck except the middle dash one, I woulda had to do some cutting to get a 3.5 in there, if i remember right i think its a 2.5" speaker, very small and not worth the hassle. Anywho, I replaced with polks 3.5 and of all the speakers, those were the biggest difference. Those are the reason I can turn the sub all the way up and still hear lyrics.

Really? A 3.5 inch did that much for you? I normally find them to be crappy. I have Hertz Hi Energry 6-1/2 Componenets up front with the Tweeters in the A-Pillars and they raise the sound up over the subs. I supposed the 3.5s are doing this too, but they are so tiny and barely handle any power....

Indeed their small, but all their intended for is pitch and thats what they put out, at least much better over stock. They come with bassblockers too for cleanersound. Also keep in mind I had to keepthe stock head unit to power them as well, i got the navi system so there was no way in hhallee i was gonna put an after market in there.

Ya and after putting out the cash for the Nav why would you want to take it out and use an aftermarket??? I took out my speakers and stock HU. But to run new wires to that part of the dash is the easiest thing in the world if you were ever to take out your Nav.

Although being a 7 minus the center 6 channel speaker system, one channel of the 4 channel amp would be running in 2ohms most likely. Meh for highs they are not bad, might be just as good to drop a pair of Tweeters in those dash holes, flush mount and be done with it. Plenty of scream from 150w tweets. Yowza
