I drove a 4.7 while Hemi was in shop?
I am sorry I ruffled some of your feathers. I did post this for people still deciding between a 4.7 and the hemi. Or hemi owners wanting to know if they made the right choice with the gas prices. Sure the 4.7 was adequate, but after driving the Hemi for so long it is a night and day difference. I do know you 4.7 guys will save a lot of money over the long haul in gas(reg vs mid), oil(hemi 7qts), spark plugs, and etc. etc.. I do think the 4.7 should be the high output version in all rams for 235hp is v6 territory. Yeah, I know it has the torque, but i think it should also have the hp.
Question: Does the hemi come with the 5 speed manual H? That would be one hell of an option to have! As I mentioned earlier, the 4.7 with that option is like day and night. It's nice to have all of that power at your fingertips. Fuel economy on my 4.7 is actually better than what I expected it to be, that is of course when I stay out of the accelerator and shift at 3200/3500 rpm's instead of 4800!

Damn, when Im tryin to be economical I shift at 2500. I know thats out of the power band but thats how I'm gettin 17mpg with a quad cab
Yeah, that was a little exaggerated but I do see the needle hit 4800 quite a bit. Usual everyday driving can be anywhere from 2500 to 3500 though. It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
