Default I trust you guys for the correct answer.

Well, I'm installing a lift in a few weeks and I have a few questions. I have an 02 Ram 1500 QC Sport 4X4. I've done alot of lifts and had alot of gears exchanged in my day, but never I've never operated on an IFS. They have all been old school Jeeps. I know it is going to be necessary to change the gears. How do you order the gears for an IFS? I'm completely lost here. With all the Jeeps I've done, it's been, "I need 4.56's for a Dana 44 (or something similar)." What do I do? Also, I have searched high and low to try to find what rear axle I have, but I have had zero luck? The last thing I want to do is contact my local stealership (for obvious reasons). Any ideas to what the rear axle is? I'm guessing it's a Chrysler 9.25 but perhaps DC stuck with the Danas in the 3rd generation rams. One more question. I plan on running 37's, would you go with 4.10's or 4.56's? I have a 5.9L by the way. Thank You.

Look at your Differential cover. If it has 12 bolts and is in the shape of a stop sign, you have the Chrysler 9.25 rear end, which I believe is all they use in the 3rd Gen Rams.

Sorry Didn't see part 2 of your question. With tires that size, without a doubt 4.56's. I have done countless hours of research on the gears because I wanna swap out my stinkinn 3.55's. You won't be sorry with the 4.56's with tires that large.

What about the front end gears? How do I order those?

your front end gears should be the same ratio as the rear, however I am not sure of the front differential in your truck. It is probably a DANA 44 but I am not sure. You should be able to get the info from DC or your local stealership. they can not charge you for information. I would have a performance shop or gear specialist do the install. The dealer will A$$ rape you.

I just bought my gears it's a Chrysler Corp 8" IFS axle, rear is a 9.25. maybe you should search to see if 4.88 gears are out for this application and if it would work better for the size tires you want to run. I'm going 4.56's to push my 35's this is where i got my stuff

In 3rd gens, only 2500-3500 have the dana's. I believe its 60's and 80's, but with 32 spline shafts instead of 35 spline.

Thanks for the help guys. I just wish DC would have stuck with the solid front axle, it's a ton easier to work with.
