One of the other members here, Avanti, went way out of his way to find a basic Hemi Ram.

As far as keeping up, I don't think that a cam alone is gonna do it. The Compcams have had mixed reviews, as noted by gonzoe. If it is serious HP you want, you're gonna have to come up with some serious change and get a supercharger or turbocharger. I'm not sure what you're truck will run in stock form, but I'm betting it will be pretty quick. Perhaps the first place you should look is the 4.56 rear gear swap that many members have been doing. That'll get you started.

4.56 damn thats low. Has anyone experimented with 4.10's or 4.11's?

So avanti went out of his way to find one huh? My story would **** him off then. I decided i wanted a new dodge. I was sick of that crappy s10 LOL. Well i went to the car lot and the first thing i walked up to was my truck. I drove it and bought it, didnt drive or look at anything else. Simple low option hemi ram. I had never seen one before, i thought it was quite rare. What do you think?

Yes, pretty rare. Most Hemi's are SLT or higher trim levels at least on the 1500. It comes std on the 2500.

...skip the 4.10's and go straight to 4.56's, this a very common gear upgrade for Rams. less stress on the tranny and motor and if your tryin to get your times down go this route...

Yes, the Hemi is an option on most trucks. If you look at the Dodge website, you can only upgrade to the 4.7L on the ST model on the SC. I didn't even know that you could get a Hemi SC with the ST group until Avanti showed up with one. I also hope he doesn't mind me using his name or his truck as reference in this thread. Avanti, I'm sorry if it did.
