I found that my gas mileage jumped up quite a bit when my truck hit between 8 and 10 thousand miles, some folks say it takes these engines a while to seal up and break in,seems true to me,my 5.7 single cab gets about 15 in the city and 17 to 19 on the highway, depending on how i drive

In the my 2500HD RAM 2006 book states...MPG will improve after 3000 miles. My MPG is bad but I only have 300 miles on my non- MDS RAM.
I am pretty sure MPG gets better above 5k.

i dont know about you guys, but when it comes to mpg, i'm in the same boat with 11m10c2 that has the Mega cab and i have a 2wd QC Hemi and i average about 11.7 and i dont drive more than 8 miles one way, this is starting to **** me off because $20 goes down the chute and the next thing i know is that i'm broke and i'm at home on a friday night (for the first time since the 7th grade.) It makes me shudder, and then i want to sell it but every time i get out of the truck i love it and find i can never bear to let it go. I think i should just leave home earlier for work and school and take the long way there. I love driving it and i'd get more bang for the buck.

What do you guys expect from a mammoth truck like the Mega Cab? First of all, the Hemi doesn't have enough power for that big of a truck. You need a CTD on that thing. That's the first problem. Secondly, my Quad Cab gets about 11 mpg in the city, 16 (if I'm doing 65) on the freeway. So my truck isn't much better. But it is lighter - thus allowing the engine to move it with less effort.

Mine jumped at about 5000 miles. I have 9000 on it now and get about 15.5 with a even mix of highway and around town driving. I drive like an animal at times also. 05 hemi 4x4 quad cab.

Same driving style, vehicle and mileage here. I do 75 mph on the freeway everywhere I go.

Welcome to the club, my ram w/ 16k miles averages just about 10mpg.

It's not a mega cab, but it is a 2500 w/ the hemi.

You should see my mileage when I'm plowing...
