Default Please correct me if I'm wrong!!?? (Tire Prob.)

I just got my leased 06' 4X4 Ram QC with the Hemi and the whole bit. I drove it and picked it up at night so I didnt really notice it until AFTER the papers were already signed. The rims were the 17', I did see that in the darkness..... I did not notice the tires were 245.60.R17!! Did these EVER come on a stock Ram?? I could see maybe one of the smaller trucks or SUV's, but these look damn silly on that big truck lol. I wish I had some pics.. I'm thinking of jumping to a 285.70.R17. Whats your thoughts on this whole scenario? Thanks, Jay

245??? my 17's stock are 265/70/17. '03 4x4 Right now it has 275. I'm stepping up to 285/70 pretty soon. Mine look pretty small, I can't imagine what a 245 looks like.

Your truck is begging you to buy her at least some 275's. That's what I have on mine and I still have room for some more rubber. I bet that right now it looks like you have a bunch of donut spares on her (no offense, it's not your fault.)

I bought my 04 SLT used and they have 245 70/17s. Im just waiting on the perfect time to get new ones to put on 265's. The 245's look ridiculous![:'(]

Check what gears you have 'cause you're going from a 28 inch tire to a 33. Check out this site

A 245/60-17 is 28.6" tall and a 265/70-17 is 31.6" isnt that a 3" difference not 5".

You're right 'bout the 265, but highspeedsentry wants to try a 285 which is 32.7 so it's really a 4 inch difference. Guess I rounded one off to the low end and the other upwards. Now I know why I never get my taxes right!
