Will the cold air induction void my warranty?
Hi guys.
Tomorrow I take my 2003 dodge ram 5.7 liter quad cab to the dealer. They are going to fix a rattle in the passenger door also I had to fill my power steering box up as it was low so Im going to have them check that also. My warranty runs out in Aug. Do you think they will say any thing when they pop the hood and see the cold air induction I installed? Should I leave it of go through the trouble of putting the stock box back on. Thanks, D

the way things generaly work is unless they find a downloader in the computer, or something you did directly caused a fault with the truck, or the dealership is uptight about the aftermarket there shouldnt be a problem.
I took my truck in a few months back to have the weatherstripping replaced and I have quite possably the largest arifilter that can be installed on my truck, they said nothing

I asked the service manager up here the same question before I put my CAI on my truck. He told me that if I had a problem with truck that they could prove was a direct result of having the CAI on it, then they could void it and refuse to cover the repairs. Anything not directly tied into the air intake should not cause you any problems with the warranty.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM
Well they fixed the rattle in the door. It was a loose window track. They also lifted the hood and fixed a leak on the Power steering hose. All warranty and they never mentioned any thing about the inductiuon. Thanks for your replys. D
Yeah, unless it's directly related with the problem you're experiencing, dealers just ignore it and don't really do anything about it.
