Spark Plugs.
Just did my plug change on my Hemi.
Not as bad as I thought it might be.
Installed NGK Iridiums.
You MUST use a universal with a small extension. I also used a "wobble bar" extention which gave a little extra play and that helped massively.
I also re-charged my K&N air filter and re-set my PCM while I was at it.
Hopefully, I should now see some gains in both performance and MPG..........fingers crossed ha ha ha.
Everything is cool at the moment and I'll post if I feel any performance difference/MPG changes.

Let us know how the Iridium's do...at $9/plug, you'd hope they do something more than the $1.79 stock Champs.
I agree with the universals and extensions. I did mine at 30k and they are a necessity. You also need a plug socket that will hold the plug rather than a normal deep well socket since the plugs are so far down in the head...you can't reach them. Other than that and a half a day, no big deal.

The Iridiums ended up being too far out of my price range, so I ended up with the G-Power's from NGK. They seem to be workin so far...
I'd really like to hear how the Iridiums do.

I bought NGK plugs and Taylor 8mm shorty wires for my 04 Hemi Ram. Haven't got the wires yet but decided to go look at the job after seeing this thread. I don't see how this job is possible. The drivers side rear 4 plugs are blocked by the power brake booster. Are you guys removing this booster or dropping a motor mount? There is literally not enought room between the top of the valve cover and the booster for a spark plug socket to fit in. I don't see how you would get a swivel or socket in there on top of it.
Am I missing something? Please enlighten me.
Thanks
Bob

Hate to say this but you will not see any measureable difference with iridiums. Having the correct heat range plug is more important that what metal is used to create the spark. It's hype, nothing more than snake oil.

I haven't done it personally, but have seen it done in the service department. Many choice 4 letter words, but it gets done.

It might just be, my Ram doesn't feel any quicker at all.
It does idle a bit smoother and it's too early for a MPG evaluation.
I bought the Iridiums for their longevity, plus a possible performance difference.
Trust me, although changing the plugs on a Hemi is not as bad as people think.....................you still don't want to do it every 30 thousand miles or so.
Oesteodoc's right. Remove the "top hat" and you can see the wood for the trees. It's honestly, relatively easy to change the plugs, just a bit daunting an' all especially with all the coments being bandied around about how dificult it is.

Hope you like the photo of me deep in the bowels of the Hemi.
The wife took it of me when my back was turned ha ha ha. It looks like I'm being swallowed alive.
