removing Rain-X

RE: removing Rain-X
Try washing your windows with soapy water using dish detergent. I know that takes wax off of the car. Instead of using rain-x, either use regular wax or use the rain-x you put in your washer fluid. I'm a truck driver and I use the rain-x washer fluid and it works the same. I waxed our windows last week before we went to myrtle beach and it rained like hell yesterday and I barely used the wipers.

The few times I've had to use my wipers to clear the bugs or road spray off, the windshield is left with streaks. Now don't get me wrong. I really like the way Rain X works on the other windows. I just don't like the way it's working on the windshield right now. I'm giving it another shot and I'll be a little more attentive to its application.

0000 (thats 4 zero) steel wool will clean your glass as well. I have used this for years to clean off water spots and whatnot from the glass. With the florida water there are alot of deposits that the sprinklers leave and steel wool (0000 grade only) and some CLR will get those windows looking good.
Obiviously be carefull around the edge of the glass as paint, rubber and plastics dont like the scrubbing too much.
