Talking to my dad about running his Hemi in 4 low.
why why why ???? 4 lo is to be used when going down long twisty trail's when off road, serves as a engine brake, or if some one is stuck and needs a truck with low end grunt to pull them out, all you do is kill kill kill the truck with this talk... Smarten up..
Exceeding 20 MPH is very hard on your trucks T-case and other mechanical parts.....remember the motor is running more than twice as fast in 4-Low......i only use 4-Low when i have to pull someone out (as mentioned) or if i really need to move a heavy piece of machinery for whatever reason.....personally i dont go over 15 mph with it engaged. To RACE somebody in 4-Low would really damage something if its all stock.

I was looking at some guys in the second gen forum or something, and they said 4 low for a short race, but I guess not.

You could for a very very short distance, but mashing the gas in 4-Low IMO is not a good idea.

I had a friend with a 97 Z71 that thought the same way you did about 4 low. He decided to race a guy in 4 low on dry pavement. Light turned green and he floored it. All 4 tires smoked, the trucked lunged forward, then..... BANG! Good-bye front diff. and transfer case. If you feel like spending a couple grand to test this theory like he did, by-all-means, race in 4 low.
Not to mention one of our own members that tried to do it and blew his T-case. Trying to race in 4lo is a bad idea and I think you should rethink this.
