Default 2004 Good Deal??

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about selling my 2004 Ram 1500 Quad cab short bed, 2wd. Its got the Hemi, Sport Pkg, SLT, Infiniti Sound, Factory Billette Grille, 20" Dodge CHROME wheels, Tow pkg, Bed Liner, CD, Alarm, Dark tint, . It's basically a Laramie with cloth seats.

The truck is like new outside, inside and underneath. It still smells new.
Its only got 32,000 and the in service date wasn't until decemember 2004.

My question, is what do you think its worth. I was thinking around $25,500.

Am I right?

I think you're a little on the optomistic side. Are you looking for a trade price or an individual sale price?

I'd imagine you're doing really well if you get 20K for it on trade and 22.5K for private sale, but then again, that is IMHO.

I KBB'd my truck which is the same as yours minus the wheels and sport package (about 2K-2.5K difference at sale) and I've got 15K miles on it; it only came up as like 17.5K trade[:@]. Kinda scary how upside down I am. Oh well. I'm keeping her for a long time and the numbers will change in a year or so in regards to being upside down.

Go to KBB.com or nada.com to check out the values for yourself, but don't be too surprised by the numbers.

If you were a dealer trying to sell it, you could probably get $24,500 for it in real good shape, but the best you could get selling it is $18,000 to $21,000. Trade, a dealer would probably offer you $17,000

Not sure about that price, I too think that would be overpriced. I have an 04 QC SLT 4x4, and it is amazing what the value of the truck is. Historically, the price will level out, but with $3 and $4 gas....who knows.....

I bought a 2004 QC SLT with 30k for $19,950 last week at a dealership.
Your car might have some feats mine doesn't, but you are also trying to seel it private which usually means a lower price...
IMO you're thinking too high.

I just bought an 04 QC, 4x4, Hemi, fac 20's, SLT with 33K for $22,400. I traded a car that they gave me close to 2K more than anyone else offered, so they definitely had some room in the truck. I imagine if I bought it outright, I coulda got it for 20.5 or so.

i just got a 2004 qc shortbed with the 20 inch wheels and the blue book was 17.5 which is what we paid for it from the dealer
since yours is a hemi and has some more options you might be able to get 18 to 19 private party but i think that youll problly get close to 17.5. if you trade it in i have no idea how much theyll give you but i think itd be around 15. If your planning on selling private party then advertise it for 18.5 that way you have room to bargain on it so that even if they talk you down a thousand bucks youll still get right at bluebook for it.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it.

I just booked out my truck.

Wholesale Blue Book is : $20,650.00

So if I cant get at least $22,500 for it, I'll probably just end up keeping it.

Thanks again!!

I bought my 2005 QC Laramie, 2 wheel drive with a HEMI (leather and suede) tow package and bed liner for $24,000. She had 27 miles. I would check KBB.com and then the autotrader to see what they are going for in your area.
