I have a Gibson Swept side exhaust on my 06 Ram Sport 2500 4x4 QC HEMI. It sounds great. It's loud enough to make your truck sound tough and get people to look as you drive by, but it's quiet enough in the cab so it doesn't bother your passengers. I have noticed an increase in gas mileage by about 1-2 MPG and a difference in my quick acceleration. My truck is the one on the Gibson Performance website "Dodge Ram 2500" gray in color. It shows a picture of my truck from behind.

I too have the gibson exhaust. And it is just as described. Loud enough and quiet enough at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised after the install.

There's a shop by me (Upstate NY) that did my dual exhaust for $250 and I paid $170 for my 2 Super 40s. Plus he put on 2 beautiful 3 in. stainless Silverline tips behind the 2.5 piping. I can argue all day about the Flowmasters being too loud inside the cab, which I don't think they are because they sound deeper than the original 40s. Even if you go to Flowmasters website and click on the 40 series and super 40 series at the same time you can tell the difference. Good luck.

i have a 2006 ram 1500 quad cab with a magnaflow muffler and an air raid cold air intake and it sounds awsome. i still have my resanator on now to keep it from droning in the cab. great set up and not that exspensive. beats the hell out of a cat back system for 600.00 dollars
So I take it you just cut out the stock muffler and welded in the magnaflow. Which one did you get. I've been thinking about doing that myself. Have you lost any torque with the magnaflow muffler?

If you can handle the noise cut the muffler out and replace it with straight pipe!! thats what i did. Sounds awesome, when you give it a bite it sounds like an offshore racing boat. I can handle the noise can you! cheapest way to gain a few horses + sounds mint!

You might try this: cut the pipes after the cats and have a competent muffler shop run 2 pipes to a magnaflow 17728 dual 2.5 in, single 3 in. out muffler using your stock tailpipe w/ resonator. I had this done for $275. quiet at idle and awesome at full throttle. The engine seems to be working much less hard at freeway speeds (65-85 mph). No drone, and the neighbors are much happier.

I'd like to see a pic or two of that setup Paul. It sounds just like what I'm looking for.
