Anyone here have thier Hemi Ram cammed?

RE: Anyone here have thier Hemi Ram cammed?
That is one of the nicest ram's I have ever seen man. You should have that big *** picture on the website in your signature. And that little 1k setup on the site they have would be all I really need to tune my ram? I'm really jealous of your hemi ram man not just because it has over 400HP but because it looks so damn cool.

That setup is for f/i wheather they are turbo or supercharger. If you are only doing a cam then all you would need is the pre-configured piggyback and start up tune for like $450.
Did you also see the pics of the new 6.1 engine going into the truck?

My truck has/had the krc220 cam in it. Now it is getting the krc turbo cam installed since the build went a different direction. I had planned on going with a 2 stage nitrous or with a gsm sc. Instead I got with krc and the used my truck to build their prototype turbo kit. And now they are building my motor using forged internals, lower compression pistons, etc. You can see my truck on their site, click hemi turbo kit link at the bottom of their main page, www.krcperformance.com
BTW- I'm using a SMT-6 and 2 Bar map from SRTKILLR too. Sup Jaime- ColtSteele here
Anyway, Here's a video of my truck idling with the krc220 cam in it http://media.putfile.com/Colts-220-Cammed-Hemi
And if anyone's interested, heres the first dyno with the turbo, before it was really tuned and before th elarger injectors were added- had to shut it down way early. No numbers but it's pretty cool how the guy filming gave it respect by moving out from in front of it when it hit full boost on the rollers http://media.putfile.com/Hemi-Ram-Tu...--spiked-16psi
Take it easy.

Watch who you are getting your cams from. And be sure to watch out. Comp cams was the first to offer a performance cam for the 5.7/6.1 hemi, these are the ones MP will be selling later, but you can buy them from various online shops that carry comp cams. A word to the wise as i was going to do this but backed off...There was to many issues with it running the motor to lean, but this can be fixed with the 6.1 hemi fuel injectors installed on your 5.7, they drop in, no mods required. But even this fix brings up another gremlin, the factory PCM is set up for the 5.7 injectors so you go to rich at idle. And if you have a superchip or jet programmer installed, its really over kill. FAST and comp cams have teamed up to offer a fix for this there kits will be available to the public in a few months and there set up is proven..thuis is the one i want. It comes with the cam and a reproggramer to end the A/f problems that have been sticking there nose up. Below is a link to what popular hotrodding ran into while playing with a 5.7 hemi crate engine..nice info for you if you do the cam install yourself...the same applies to your ram.

RE: Anyone here have thier Hemi Ram cammed?
The cams from KRC are comp cams but with krc's custom grinds.
The KRC 210 and 218 cams are drop ins. You won't need any programming. (These are similar to comps 3 cams for the hemi)
The KRC 220 cam (larger than the comp 273) will require the use of an Apexi SAFC2 or a SMT6, something you can adjust fuel injector pulse at certain vaccum levels and timing or you can go full standalone as comp did with their 273. My air fuel ratio sat between 12.0 and 12.5 at WOT from 4500rpms to 6250rpms with the 220 cam and stock injectors with a little tuning. On KRC's dyno the 220 cam in my truck showed a 54rwhp gain, and that was a 2nd gear pull, with my 22's on, the exhaust cutout closed, a new high stall tc and 4:56 gears (all of this will cause lower dyno #'s) Now I've removed the KRC 220 cam from my truck and now I'm going with the KRC Turbo Cam - 228/224-554/547 115+4 - This is better since it's got the turbo now.
The SMT6 can adjust timing and will let you write your own fuel maps so with it you can fix any timing or fuel problem the cam may present for a lot less than the cost of a standalone FAST. I'm using the SMT6 on a 2 Bar MAP Sensor to tune my turbo hemi ram. I'm also using 55lb injectors and an Aeromotive billet EFMU for fuel. Still debating if we're going to turn it to a return style fuel system. That'll depend on how it does when the motor comes back from getting the forged bottom end. SHould be pretty cool.

First, those that have gone with the bigger cams have not gone lean but rich because of the vacuum difference.
Second, adding 6.1 injectors into a stock Hemi has no affect on idle or part throttle a/f because it is in closed loop so the PCM handles the fuel by adding or triming fuel to get an a/f of 14.7. It will add more fuel at WOT(open loop) only. You can also do this by adding the 04/05 fuel pump to the 03 to get more fuel at WOT.
