Default disappointed that a chevy camaro roasted me

My truck is coming up on 10k, 05 QC Hemi.

Was driving next to a camaro the other day and he kept giving it pep, so i gave it some gas, he took off like a bat out of hell and i floored it. I felt like my pedal was touching the floor for a couple seconds too long before my truck sped up. Sucked.

Didnt expect to beat the camaro which is probably 2000 lbs lighter, but still.......

seems like its not as strong when it was at 5k, maybe my imagination.

what do you think, my poor driving or a wasted attempt.

Wasted Attempt....

A camaro if it has an LS1 will run mid to low 13s bone stock.

With a few mods they will run in the twelves, and with a power adder, such as nitrous they will run low 11s all day long.

If its a V8 camaro then no luck for you beating it. BUt if it was a V6 it would beat you but not very badly.

its a truck, its not supposed to beat a camaro... even still, v8 camaros are sick, if you need to beat them, you may consider buying an rt10 or dumping more than 10k into your motor

No need to dumb 10k into his truck just to beat a V8 camaro. About 3k would do it.

Should have not wasted the fuel... you never stood a chance. I personally own a third gen camaro, mine is no where near stock, but even stock v8 are quick. It really breaks down to a weight game.

No need to dumb 10k into his truck just to beat a V8 camaro. About 3k would do it.
i have a ls1 formula, trust me it would take more thank 3k to take it, and it only has an exhaust and intake. figure 10k to build a decent motor that wont blow under boost and to create an efficient boost setup. gotta figure yes f-bodies are boats, but a truck is a tank... please dont get me started. i think its funny poeple buy the hemi to race and such. trucks have a purpose to work and haul stuff, i use my truck to pull my cars around, dont get me wrong there are some hot show trucks and some fast race trucks, but i guarantee you it took more than 3k to do it. also, how many stock f-bodies do you see running around your area? if i recall when i was back in the states most f-bodies have at least an exhaust, most have more than that. trucks wont run 12s and 13s easily cheaply or reliably its physics. dont mean to come off as a dick or anything, but im just saying so many poeple talk about the hemi like its godly and such, yes its a great motor with lots of power, when you are around 2/3s the weight, or less, and only a little less hp (easily the same with basic mods) you will get toasted every time.
