Default Auto Window and 2500 Mirrors

As the title says I have two issues here. Well not really issues but ideas for cool modifications.

First) Auto Window
The idea is that the auto window on the driver side is controlled by itself (the switch itself keeps power on itself for the entire window to go down) and what i want to do is get another "auto" switch and put in on the passenger side (and passenger control on the driver side) to make the passenger (Front) window to be auto, that way i only have to press down once when i want both windows down and not have to hold the button. If anyone has any questions/comments please post so that I dont spend my money on a failed project.

Second) 2500 mirrors on a 1500
This one, however, may be a failed plan. I LOVE the 2500 mirrors because they have that built in mini mirror in the corner. I know, I know, a lot of you may say just to get those little discs that go there, I have them, and I dont think they work very well. What I want to do is pick up some 2500 mirrors and slap them on the 1500. My issue is that I dont know if the fit is exact or if it will still seal the door because of the fitment. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

I can't help on the auto window down for the other windows, as I have never approached this mod.
As far as the mirrors go, I'll assume you have the 3rd gen ram. Check and see if they were an option for your truck, with the dealer. I can't see why they wouldn't fit, but it never hurts to check first to be sure. I could have got the sport mirrors for mine when I ordered it but spec'd out the tow mirrors because I like them also. They also rotate out to a real towing mirror in addition to the little convex mirror in the corner.

2500 mirrors from 2003 on should fit the 1500 from 2002 on. Do a search on ebay for "Dodge Ram towing mirror" and you'll get plenty of hits. If that's the mirror you're talking about. There are also some aftermarket mirrors that work pretty well, too. I have the Schefenacker TTT mirrors on my 2500.

Edit: On further thought - maybe I misunderstood the original question. I bought my 2500 used last October. Is the round convex "spotter" mirror in the corner a standard thing on the 2500? I always assumed the PO stuck 'em on there. Mine are powered and heated. I'm probably gonna ebay 'em, soon, since I replaced them with the Schefenackers.

thanks tcbarney, i actually never thought that the towing mirrors were NOT standard as thats all that ive seen (working at a car dealership) but i did the search on ebay and found many results so thank you for your advice on that.

I am pretty sure that the AUTO DOWN button will work but i will look further into that and possibly post a how to or something like that

Funny, I've been thinking about both of these. From what I can tell, the swinging mirrors will fit. I'm pretty sure the window switch will work, since my wife's Liberty has two auto window switches right next to each other (Liberty's have them in the console).

The convex mirror that is on the tow mirrors is part of the mirror. They make backing and changing lanes MUCH easier.

and who couldnt use easier backups and lane changes? lol

Thats actually why i wanted them, because you could see so much more vs. the traditional sticky convex mirror that you can buy at walmart. From the descriptions on ebay it says that the towing mirrors are for the 1500,2500 and 3500. I was actually never given that option when i bought it but I suppose that I was kind of in a "give me it NOW!" mode so i or they may have overlooked it, in anyevent i will make it right.

The switch i will probably attempt next week if i can track down a ram at a salvage yard or see how much the switch is at dodge dealer.

You're welcome, dude.

BTW, if you go to that TTT Mirrors website and look for "Fitting Instructions" you can download the install instruction that will show you very clearly how to get the old mirrors off and put on new ones. The Dodge part will fit the same way, I'm sure. It's pretty easy. I had my 6 year old twins "helping" me with mine and still managed to swap 'em out in about 30 minutes.

You could always check http://www.stylinconcepts.com/Default.aspx or http://www.performanceproducts.com/ just to see what they have
