Hey Air Ram, you know Yukon is offering a 4:88 now for the 9.25? It became available in late 2005.

I would have gone with 88's because of my tires, but nobody makes them for the front 8" diff.

I was wanting to put new gears in my truck, but every place I talk wants to charge about 1000 dollars in labor. I can get the parts for couple hundred bucks though. How hard would it be to do it myself?

i payed 900.oo at my local dodge dealer. That included 4.56 gears (i supplied), Gibson shorty headers (i supplied), and an oil change

prolly just $250 cuz they were they same size and they didnt have to shim them out and micro them. Oh ok they are 4.56s not 3.98s sorry

...that was his flat fee for all gear installs...he charged exactly the same price for a couple other dodge rams that changed into 4.56's too...and i know with mine he said it took him 3x reseting it before he was satisfied with the fit...
