dont take anything less then 20k since they f-ed it up!!

the suggested retail for your truck if your were to buy your truck from a dealer is 24,500, you need to get 20k for your truck, they need to make amends for this problem

Perhaps I would consider keeping IF!!!!! they would REPLACE all the damaged stuff, not push out the dents and fill it, and a full paint job. If not, you might consider finding a very good attorney now, and stop dickering with them. They have an obligation to return the truck to you in the same condition that they received it in. Let them know up front YOU are not willing to mess around with their offers. Yes, they will be PISSED off at you, but so what, their mistake, their problem----fix it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you trade it in, you are not only playing into their hand, you are even going to give them more money.

If after its fixed, then you want to trade it in, yup---go for it.

I would have asked for 20K or 3K above trade in, especially since they trashed YOUR truck. And buy a new one at cost. If not, you'll get hosed on the resale because it has been "wrecked."
I don't know what state your in, or what there laws are...but I seriously doubt turning a corner too tight is going to cause enough damage to trip the damage disclosure law.

I agree with Gone Fishin, they have an obligation to return the truck to you in the condition they took it in. For sure don't take that low offer, make them make it right.

With the discount of 3,158 + your trade in of 17,500 that is 20,658.00 for your truck. that sounds fair to me, I personally would go for it. For a new Hemi QC 4x4 $23,432.00 is a heck of a deal IMO.
Good luck

Go with a trade in. Sounds like the best deal.

Yes, I understand what you are talking about, but if thier insurance company pays for it; it will come up on a Carfax or other type service when he goes to sell it, making the value less in the end; due to no fault of his own. Sure, if someone hits him on the way home, the insurance company will fix it and that is all, but we are talking about a dealer that has the power to make things right. By "right", I mean that the customer comes out on top. So whether it be fix the truck and offer free oil changes or giving him an "adjusted" trade value and new truck at cost, they CAN make this right....and they should. Of course, if they have an in-house body shop, this would be a moot point.

Just read the rest of the thread. Sounds like they are doing what they should and I would definitely go for the new truck. Hope everything works out for you.

that sounds like a good deal but also try and get them to throw in free oil changes for....maybe 15,000 miles? I think that would be perfect for your situation. If they wont do that then try and work out a deal on free tires or something, they f*cked up and you should milk it dude. Pour salt on their wounds.
