Default Should I go with BLACK or CHROME side steps?

My wife is complaining about having to climb up into my truck (she's 5'3"). She gave me the go ahead for some of the metal tubular side steps. I just don't know if I should go with chrome or the black powdercoat. As usual, cost is an issue and I want to order, preferrably, from one of our sponsers. Ideas or comments?

Also, for you guys that have them on 2wd trucks, how much ground clearance did you lose and is it a significant amount? I don't want to be busting them on tall curbs if I decide I want to go over it or rocks or anything else.

got pretty much the same truck with the exception that mine is the sport package so the bumpers are black - the chrome sets black off nicely. I had the same thought that all black would look sharp - i am happy i chose chrome.

just my thought

I got stainless steel steps for less then $200 delivered off of E-bay, they look REALLY nice. I'd definately suggest chrome on black. Ground clearance doesn't seem to be a problem.

Chrome----- definitely!!

I know the factory nerfs tuck very nicely up near the body, without any clearance problems for your feet. I purchased the factory nerfs for mine as my wife is 5'4" and really appreciates them, and me for getting them!!!!

You do not want chrome, you want SS. Also make sure all the hardware that attaches the bars are also SS.

I think on a black truck like you have, the chrome or black would look nice, i just think if you throw on some black rims, black tint and black nerf bars, that thing would look friggen SICK man!

I personally have a red/chrome truck myself and i also think if you do some chrome door handles and rims it would look really sharp too, if i had a black truck i would go batmobile style, and any other color would trim it with chrome.
