Depends on the setup. Single or is it duals. Single would be 3" in/out and duals can be 3" in/out. Or duals could be 3" in 2.5" out. My flowmaster cat back kit is 3" in and dual 2.5" out. I do not want to confuse you but give us a little more info on what you want to do and we can help you out the best we can.

Unless you're running over 500 hp you should go with the 2.5". I don't have a Hemi, but the 50 series flows (true dual from behind cats out)sound sweet. I initially thought they would be to quiet, but man was I wrong. They sound nice at idle and awsome under the gun. Hope that helps.

Well I did some thinking and I used 2 squares from my wood working stuff and I held them togather and I had cheap caliapers .I got 3 inches ,just placed the order with hottexhaust.com . My plan is to have just the muffler replaced then if it's not loud enough I will remove remove the aft resonator I figure this is a cheap way befor spending big bucks on a cat back system.

Just adding my $.02 here, but I bought a 3" inlet flowmaster and wanted to drive with it before I paid the muffler shop to install pipes and such, and it would not bolt directly to the stock pipe. If you measure the mid pipe in front of the stock muffler is, you'll find that it is 2.75". So a 3" inlet muffler will be too big, and a 2.5" inlet will be too small. You'll have to make up an adapter for it to bolt up. My truck is also a 2005 hemi.
