Default 03 Ram 1500 LSD clip issues

Just did a fluid change in my 03 Ram Hemi 1500 with the LSD.

Guess what................................Yep looks like I now belong to the infamous broken clip club !!!!!!

Question. My 03 is a used import here in the UK.
What's my options in running with the diff "as is" ?
Will it cause unrepairable damage in the diff?

If I was to replace it with an Auburn or other after market LSD, would that cure my problems?
Is the Auburn already set up, ie backlash and such in the gears?
Would it be a straight forward install for a guy who's not too unfamiliar with a spanner?
Any help is appreciated.
Please check out my pics and post your thoughts please.
Al.

Where is the rest of the clip?

there should be two ends that look like this...

Make sure you account for all the little peices... they could come back to haunt you if you dont get them all out.

Yep.........I have them, but what should I do with this diff?
I don't suppose I have any warranty with Chrysler UK even though these clips are a big issue and there should be a product recall.

Take it in and ask...> All they can say is no... You could print out several post about the clips giving out to prove its COMMON. Other than that I would buy a Detroit true track and a new set of 4.56's and have them thrown in...

Is this only a problem with 4X4's or with 2wd trucks as well?

Is there a way you can tell that there is a broken clip, other than opening the diff.? Ihave been noticing something going on in the rear diff but I have no idea what it is.....

Not really.

My diff sounded/drove/worked perfectly.
When I opened up the diff......................well out came my "Pumpkin surprise" a C clip unfortunately.
Now officially a member of the "broken clip club".
I'll try with the local Chrysler/mercedes dealership here in the UK and run it by them Air Ram.
As you say, they can only say no.
Is there an official product recall on these diffs btw?
