Is there some kinda catch in the service contract that they will not pay for a rental if no trouble was found? Also is there any way to report this ***** to DC?
When the service dept. files a warranty claim to get paid, it is completely automated and done on-line.
Every nut, bolt, part, and possible repair has an 8 digit code. There are soo many flaws in this system - I won't even get into it.
But one thing to it, is that they must have a labor code to get paid.
For labor, rentals/loaners, parts..etc.
I am greatly simplifying this process, so I am not being 100% accurate on this - but trying to give you a basic idea.
Warranty can be a real bitch for the system admin.

But if you want to contact DCX
1-800-521-9922 is the service contracts hotline - maybe they can straighten things out with the rental
I don't have phone numbers for any "higher-ups" with DCX for your zone. I just have Denver Zone contacts.

Dodgedir thanks I have already contacted them about the whole situation. I was told I have to wait to see what the dealer is going to do.

But I went up to the dealer and told the ***** to bring the truck around and get into the passenger seat. I took their water hose (with no nozzle) and ran water onto the top of the truck. After a few seconds the guy knocks on the sunroof and yells for me to stop. Then as he was getting out of the truck I accidentally splashed him with the hose. After that the guy was singing a different song, since he seen the leak finally. Now its going to be another 2-3 hours.

I'm sorry but what kinda techs do dealers hire. For the fact that I told them, over the phone, how to run water over the truck to get it to leak. And they couldn't even do that. And that I had to go up there and show them. Not like its very complicated. I mean they charge close to $75/hour for labor and the high school kid is reading an automotive repair for dummies book. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling as I'm driving a heavy machine down the road that this same guy might have fixed your steering problem Ram_Sport.

Alright heres another update! Just talked with the dealer and he said that what they were going to do, dealer #1 has already done. That means that he is going to have to have a specialist come in to fix the problem. Since I want the truck for the weekend, to go fishing I will have to pick it up this evening and drop it back off Monday.

Which leads me to my next question Dodgedir. What kinda "specialist" are they going to bring in to fix their problem? I mean at this point all I can do is laugh! Its a WATER LEAK, not like there trying to find a bug in the wiring or computer. Something that I would undersand that they cant find.

the "specialist" they are probably bring in is probably a engineer who knows the truck, so if this is a prevelent problem they can get it fixed in the facotry before they ship... this happend at my dads job(we both work rental car companies) we all know chevy right yea they suck so on to the good stuff the chevy cobolt its had so many recalls its not even funny, but they had to call in the engineers of the chevy cobolt came to inspect the cars that had the problems, oh lets see the airbag wires were backwards, um some plastic piece buried in the dash would warp and cause engine coolant to run inside the car and they came out and basically disassembled the area and drew and inspected what was happening to make a fix for the problems, they probably are sending out an engineer to have a gander

I cant imagine why an engineer or factory tech advisor would have to come to inspect a leaking sunroof...
Sounds like they are not telling you everything???
I would think if they pulled the headliner down and removed the trim on the A pillar to find this drain tube (which I know nothing about - so dont ask me) they should be able to see where the water is comming from.

The must have seen something they didn't like and require "above and beyond" normal repairs...?????

Is it a factory sun roof, or an after market sunroof that the dealer had installed to up the price of the truck?????

I asked the service manager and he said it was factory installed. That was my first question also.

Dodgedir they have already pulled that piller and head liner several time and still cant fix it. So I dont know whats up.

I certainly understand your frustration.
But DCX has an agreement with Enterprise that they should only charge $35 when covered by a service contract.
If they want to charge you more, then they are just trying to jack you. (my 2 cents)

And I think that first dealer treated you like crap!
I know there are a lot of times when we wanted to give up on a job, but we have NEVER sent a customer to another dealer.

I have the Major Care plan and I get a Enterprise Dakota Quadcab 4x4 every time I take my truck in, for no money out of my pocket with this plan.

not getting a loaner can be a good thing... if you have no loaner and your days out of commision hit thirty, you get to sell your truck back for total price less fair use...

In TX anyway
