im looking into the 4.56 gears hard but i dont know to much on what i all need i have a: 2wd 04 dodge ram reg cab 1500 with the 4.7 and have the 3.55 gears in it now. So what do i all need to get going with the 4.56 gears? any help is needed thanks Dusty.
You will need a master install kit for about $100 and then the gears for $150-$200ish depending on what you want. Labor should NOT be over $300 per axle I had a guy quote $250 and axle but he was too far away.
Or you could jump to 4.10gears. You would see a pretty big difference going from 3.55's to 4.10's but if you really want to go with 4.56gears thats up to you.
...for me it was performance...my truck doesn't feel heavy at all and moves amazingly quick...also...on the high end (110 mph+) I don't have to have my foot buried into the floor...
