Default Bounce In the rear end

I live In Califonia, Riversdie area. When I drive in he fast lane on the 91 Freeway at about 60-70MPH I get bad bouncing in the rear. I have a friend who has a QC like mine and his does the same thing. I have not gone very far in the truck its just the same rute everyday so can it just be the freeway? Or do I need to check something on my truck?

Welcome to the world of a pick-up truck. The rear suspension is sprung for 1000lbs, not empty, so the suspension is real stiff and you will feel what the road is dishing out at you. Also, the fact that there is very little weight over the rear axle will cause the rear to kick up if you hit a large bump at high speed. It's not your driving style, just the way it is with a P/U truck.

Chris is so right, thats a truck for you. My '01 2500 QC LB really bounced too until I put on the bump up canopy (see photo in my gallery) and padded insert. The weight helped to take out most of the bounce and the wife and I use it for camping.

So.....if you have ever considered a cover the weight will help. Of course, the downside is that whatever weight you add will effect your mileage.

This is a common complain of the 3rd Gen trucks. If you want to cure it, get some sand or something cheap/heavy and place it over the rear wheels. I like the sand bags because they don't slide around and take up very little room, not to mention the ride benefit.

Ok thanks everyone, I thought it was just the truck but I wanted to make sure, this is my first big truck other than a old D-50 that had a camper shell and never bounced like that. I will try the sandbags in the back, how many do you think should do the trick?

I live in riverside too and thought the 91 was just fu$@ed up until I talked to everyone else w/ a fullsize truck and they sais the same as everyone else. It seems to be worse on the 91 than the 15 or 215 south......... Our freeways just suck!
