so i washed my truck today...
because somebody else egged it last nite. and then i went back outside a few hours later and there were stains in the paint. i guess it happened late last nite and i didnt go outside and see it until about 1 today so it sat for god knows how many hours and many of those hours were spent in the hot texas sun and now i have stains all over my truck. me and my dad are gonna try waxing it and if that doesnt work then im gonna see if i can get it professionally done and maybe that will help but do any of yall know of a good fix to get stuff like that off your paint?
on another note the same thing happened to my dad a few years ago when his truck was brand new. i think i know who it is but cant prove it. if it happens again im gonna have to come up with some way to catch him. i was thinkin of taking one of those motion activated game cameras that hunters strap to trees to see if they can find any deer coming by their stands at nighttime and strapping it to the telephone pole in our front yard since its just a few feet from the curb where i park my truck at nite.

Sorry to hear about that. I once bought a used, but new to me, vehicle and had some kids try to throw a cylinder block though the window. They came up short and put a huge dent in the sheetmetal of the drivers door and scratches everywhere. I had some suspected kids in the neighborhood, but no way to prove it[:@]. So long story short, I feel your pain
.
I've found that Scratch-X works well for the paint and if I can't get it out with that, I can't get it out.

Any idea of what the stain is????
You may be able to get the worst of it off with simple mineral spirits-----after you wash the truck first to prevent scratching.

If they do not buff out you can wet sand with 2000 grit, the buff out those stractches, but, if you never done this before I suggest you practice on a lawn mower or something. That or have a pro do it.
Well...I am a pro and i can tell you that without actually seeing the damage i can't tell you what is best...more than likely it will have to be sanded down and buffed with a mechanical buffer (air or electric) and secondly...if you dont know what you're doing with the buffer you can definetly burn straight through the clearcoat which means it will have to be painted....send me some pics and ill tell you if it needs to be painted over or not...but definetly let a pro do it unless the rubbing compound (scratch-x) gets it out
