Whats the difference between an 06 1500 2WD and 4x4 for lifting?

cheap way to do it would be go and look for some spring spacers, but i dont have experience with them so i couldnt tell how well they work. and my question to u is, why raise it to make it level when u could lower the rear and make it level? never could understand why guys with 2wd trucks wanna raise em [sm=dontgetit.gif]

cause its a truck.... raised trucks 2wheel drive or not still benefit from the added space. i have a two wheel drive because i had no reason for a 4 so i saved myself the money. its also quicker than the 4

2wd has independant front suspension utilizing torsion bars. All you need to do to raise/lower the truck is adjust the torsion bars and have the vehicle realigned.
4wd has independant front suspension utilizing coil springs. For those, you either need a spring spacer kit or an entire new spring.
It's a change they made for 2006...(or was it 2005?) Either way, all the 1/2 tons from 02,03,04 (and maybe 05) had torsion bars regardless of 2wd/4wd configuration. Now only the 2wd 1/2 tons utilize torsion bars, which is the way it should be

I did not know a 2wd has torsion bars? I thought that only the 4wd have them.? So where are the torsion bars on a 2wd?
