Well guys i was at work today and i had to go to the bank for the company, so i go to the closest location and get a car ( i work at a car rental company) park my truck and take a galant to the bank, well when i come back my front right is flat im like great just what i need on monday!! well i do the usual break the lugs while on the ground go the the shop at the location and take a floor jack to lift it up figuring it would be easier that the thing we get in the truck, jack the truck up get the tire off and plug it up and take it back to the truck to be put back on... well im lifting the truck cause now the tire is full of air and the truck needs to be higher to get it on, so as im jacking it up all of a sudden with the jack below it the jack slips and the jack come off the frame rail and the truck falls to the ground (that is probably one of the scariest things that has happend to me in my lifetime, well now my truck is on the floor the jack is under the truck and im like F**K F**K F**K, i release the jack to have it come down so i can lift the truck back up as fast as i can, well after i get it back up and the wheel on, i inspect the truck for damage where the jack slipped, the truck was laying on the disc brake on the front right and im like just what i need another bill i cant afford, well checking for damage the jack scraped the frame rail and im guessing its part of the sub frame it cut, it doesnt seem that it cut through the floorboard but my dad will check it out tonight since hes a mechanic, i know their is damage to the truck because it cut it but i just hope its not toooo bad at all, i will update you guys later when i find out the good or bad news! I am so sorry to here your tale of woe. Things like this can happen to the best of us, so just take things one step at a time. Just remember that it is only material and can be fixed and repaired, as opposed to a part of you being under the truck when it decided to come down!

 

well guys my dad checked it out and its okay except for the metal that got cut no damage to the disc or front right suspension,

Im so happy its only the one scratch and cut but i can live with that im just happy its not going to be expensive to fix, just gonna sand it down and paint it silver so it will blend (sorta)...

Yea i know this whole thing could of been completely different if i was closer or under the truck, im just happy that i wasnt, it was scary to see my truck just fall to the ground and i was like within a foot or so from it when it happend, just glad dodge makes one he!! of a truck that can that this, not that im planning on doing it again, but this was one bad monday made better with no futher damage, so yea goodbye monday, and whats tuesday got coming my way!!!

i will get pics up of the scratch and the cut once the light comes up and i have some time..

 

I never get under a vehicle without jack stands. Good to hear you are OK, sounds pretty scary and I bet you had a pretty sick feeling in your stomach when it happened.

 

yea im just happy you dont have to be under a vehicle to change a tire, i think my next purchase is going to be some jack stands to keep in the truck just in case, oh yea i have a sick feeling when it happened i was like dam this could of been a lot worse and is my truck okay but everything ended up being okay
